Simple Ways to Pay for Parking Fees in Nairobi County

Motorists often avoid driving into the Central Business District (CBD) in Nairobi as they struggle to look for parking and pay for it.

However, in 2024 you don’t have to look for a city council agent to pay the parking fee.

The Nairobi county government introduced the Internal Revenue Management System (IRMS) in June 2019. It is an easy, fast, and efficient revenue collection method that has enabled users to pay parking fees through mobile money options like M-pesa.

How to Pay for Parking in Nairobi Via USSD

  • Dial *647# on your phone.
  • Select Parking Services, choose Daily Parking and the Parking Zone
  • Enter Vehicle License Plate.
  • An M-Pesa payment request shall display on your phone.
  • Enter your M-Pesa Pin and click OK
  • Upon completion, a message will be sent to your phone confirming your payment details from NRB_Revenue.

How to Pay for Parking through the Nairobi Web Portal

  • Log onto https://nairobiservices.go.ke/ and select Parking services-Daily Parking
  • Enter the Vehicle Number plate and the Parking Zone
  • Enter your mobile number. An M-pesa payment request shall display on your Enter your M-pesa PIN and click OK
  • On successful payment, you will receive a payment notification via SMS from your mobile service provider and NRB_Revenue.

How to Pay for Season Parking

  • Log onto https://nairobiservices.go.ke/ and select Parking services-Seasonal Parking
  • Enter Vehicle Number plate, Parking Duration, and Start Date
  • An invoice will be generated for payment
  • Once ready to pay; choose your preferred mode of payment
  • On successful payment, select “Check Payment”, the system will confirm payment against the Bill Invoice number
  • A receipt is generated ready for download under “Transaction History”.

Off-Street Parking

Payment is made at the time of exit from the off-street car park area;

  1. Pay through the USSD Code
  • Dial *647#
  • Select Parking Services, choose Off-Street Parking
  • Enter Vehicle License Plate. An M-Pesa payment request shall display on your phone. Enter your M-Pesa Pin and click OK
  • On successful payment, you will receive a payment notification via SMS from your mobile service provider and NRB_Revenue.
  1. Pay through the Nairobi Pay Web Portal
  • Log onto https://nairobiservices.go.ke/ and select Parking Services- Off-Street
  • Enter the Vehicle Number plate and select “Checkout”
  • Enter your mobile number. An M-pesa payment request shall display on your Enter your M-pesa PIN and click OK
  • On successful payment, you will receive a payment notification via SMS from your mobile service provider and NRB_Revenue.

If your vehicle is clamped, follow the payment instructions in the “Parking Charge Notice”. It is always placed on the car windscreen or call the phone number for guidance.

Impounded vehicles are taken to Nairobi County impound yards; General Stores Yard (Along Race Course Road, Next to St. Peters Catholic Church) and The Dagoreti Yard (Along Ngong Road, near Kenya Meteorological Department).
