Four Kenyans have been shortlisted for the upcoming third season of Beast Games, the high-stakes global reality competition created by YouTube megastar MrBeast.

The four shortlisted contestants, Jovette, Cecilia, Yviona, and Franklin are part of a wider global casting initiative aimed at selecting standout individuals from across the world.

Unlike previous editions, Season 3 is expected to take a more international approach, with organizers reportedly seeking one competitor per country to battle it out for a grand prize of $5 million (approximately Sh 650 million).

Beast Games is a large-scale reality competition series inspired by the viral challenge format popularized by MrBeast. Known for his extravagant giveaways and extreme challenge videos, MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson has transformed online entertainment into a global phenomenon.

The show, distributed on Amazon Prime Video, features hundreds of contestants competing in a series of intense challenges designed to test physical endurance, mental agility, and social strategy.

With a record-breaking $5 million grand prize, it is widely regarded as one of the most lucrative reality competitions in television history.

Previous seasons have featured up to 1,000 contestants, all navigating elaborate sets, high-pressure scenarios, and unpredictable twists. From strength-based tasks like pulling heavy vehicles to psychological dilemmas involving cash bribes and eliminations, the show thrives on pushing participants to their limits.

Season 3 is shaping up to be even more ambitious. Early reports suggest that the production team is pursuing a “global representation” format, aiming to feature contestants from as many countries as possible. This shift places additional emphasis on cultural identity, national pride, and individual uniqueness.

As part of this approach, applicants were required to submit audition videos showcasing not only their personalities and talents but also their connection to their home countries. Contestants were encouraged to highlight what makes them the best representatives of their nation.

Getting shortlisted for Beast Games is no small feat. The casting process is managed by professional production teams and involves multiple stages of vetting.

Applicants begin by submitting a one-minute audition video, where they must demonstrate why they stand out. This could include showcasing athletic ability, intellectual achievements, creative talents, or even a strong online presence.

Those who make it past the initial stage are then subjected to further scrutiny. This includes interviews with producers, background checks, and additional video submissions designed to assess their personality and strategic mindset. Contestants may be categorized into archetypes such as “hero,” “villain,” or “genius,” depending on how they present themselves.

Finally, shortlisted candidates must meet strict logistical requirements. These include possessing valid travel documents, being eligible to enter multiple countries, and being available for filming over several weeks. With filming locations spanning continents, from North America and Europe to Asia and Africa.

Participants may find themselves competing in massive arenas like “Beast City,” engaging in survival-style scenarios on remote islands, or navigating high-pressure group decisions in enclosed environments. In some cases, contestants are forced to make difficult moral choices, such as accepting large sums of money to quit.

Beyond the grand prize, contestants also have opportunities to win significant rewards throughout the competition. These include cash prizes, luxury items, and even once-in-a-lifetime assets like private islands.

Despite the excitement, it is important to note that being shortlisted does not guarantee a spot in the final competition. The selection process is still ongoing, and only a limited number of contestants will ultimately be chosen.
