NAIROBI, Kenya — William Ruto, Health Cabinet Secretary, Aden Duale, Transport Cabinet Secretary, Davis Chirchir, and Water Cabinet Secretary Eric Mugaa have made a series of appointments to boards and institutions across the public sector, according to gazette notices dated March 27.
Ruto appointed Kosiom Frank Ole Kibelejenya as an ambassador within the Foreign Service, marking the only diplomatic nomination in the latest round of postings.
In the health sector, Duale announced multiple appointments and reappointments affecting referral hospitals, regulatory councils, and professional boards. Riyak Ahmed Mohamed and Zablon Mokua were named members of the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital board.
The two will serve three-year terms beginning March 27.
Duale also reappointed Catherine Kathure Samwel as a member of the Kenya National Hospital Board for another three-year term, effective the same date. Nazim Jiwa Mitha and David Kipchirchir Rotich were appointed as members of the Kenyatta National Hospital Board, also for three years.
At the Physiotherapy Council of Kenya, Duale appointed Godana Sora as Non-Executive Chairperson. Hilda Cheserem, Washington Atho Waindi, Anjali Bajali, Harrison Gicheru, and Wallace Karuguti were named as council members. All will serve three-year terms effective March 27.
Tonnie Mulli was appointed to the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council for three years, while Moses Kiptanui, Marion Mutugi, and Rose Jepchumba Kosgey were reappointed to the board.
At Mathari National Teaching and Referral Hospital, David Muthaka Ichere was appointed a board member for three years. Bernard Kaparo, Japhet Ouru Ogwangi, and Obadia Kipkurui were reappointed to the board.

Duale further appointed Solomon Kariuki, Stanley King’e, Nancy Jabungei, Joel Stephen Mukaya, Josephine Nyabeta, Damaris Katsutsu, and Hashim Musa Haji as members of the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board.
Hadija Bisharo, Warda Mohamed, Kennedy Kuria, and Safari Kali Kithi were reappointed to the same board for another three-year term.
Lyndah Kemunto Manoti was also appointed as a member of the Pharmacy and Poisons Board for three years.
Separately, Chirchir appointed Peter Kibe Maina and Kenneth Limo Toroitich as members of the National Transport and Safety Authority board. Their appointments take effect for a three-year period.
In the water sector, Mugaa appointed Beatrice Kanuthu Muchina as a member of the Central Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency board for three years.
