Africa Fintech Summit Opens Nominations for Excellence in Fintech Awards 2024

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya- The Africa Fintech Summit (AFTS) officially kicked off the nomination process for this year’s Excellence in Fintech Awards, inviting the public to recognize standout players in Africa’s booming fintech ecosystem.

The awards ceremony will be one of the highlights of the 12th edition of AFTS, scheduled to take place from September 4th to 6th at the JW Marriott in Nairobi.

As Africa’s fintech landscape continues to surge with groundbreaking innovations, the AFTS Excellence in Fintech Awards is set to shine a spotlight on the most influential startups and ecosystem enablers.

This year’s categories range from Fintech of the Year and Bank of the Year to Excellence in Digital Banking, Payments, and Remittances.

The awards are designed to celebrate those who are driving critical financial solutions for Africans both on the continent and in the diaspora.

The AFTS is more than just an awards ceremony—it’s a gathering of global fintech stakeholders that happens twice a year, once in Washington D.C. and another in a different African city.

Each edition is packed with ecosystem-building activities, from expert-led panel discussions and networking sessions to startup showcases and ecosystem tours.

The Excellence in Fintech Awards is one of the key events, highlighting companies that are not only thriving but also pushing the boundaries of what fintech can do in Africa.

Over the past decade, Africa’s fintech ecosystem has witnessed exponential growth, driven by an increase in funding, innovation across payments and banking, and the rapid adoption of digital financial solutions.

This explosive growth has produced a new generation of African fintech leaders who are gaining recognition on the global stage.

Earlier this year, Kenya’s M-KOPA was named on the TIME100 Most Influential Companies list for the second consecutive year.

Other African fintech powerhouses like Flutterwave, Piggyvest, Kuda, MTN, Bank Zero, Palmpay, and Yoco also made it to CNBC’s 2024 Top 250 Fintech Companies list.

These achievements underscore the vast potential and influence of Africa’s fintech innovators.

With the nomination process now open, the AFTS invites everyone to participate in celebrating the fintech companies that are making a difference.

Whether it’s a startup that’s breaking new ground in digital payments or a bank that’s revolutionizing digital banking, this is the moment to recognize and reward those leading the charge in Africa’s fintech revolution.
