MACHAKOS, Kenya-Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua has declared that political change in Kenya is inevitable, projecting confidence ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Addressing supporters in Machakos Town, Gachagua said the country is on the brink of a new era, insisting the anticipated transformation is “not a matter of if, but when.”
“It is a matter of time. Our National Anthem will be sung again with the same tune but a different hope since independence,” he told a charged crowd.
The former deputy president painted a picture of renewed institutions and governance, promising a return to respect for the rule of law, a functional civil service, and improved access to education and healthcare.
“Our institutions will be back again, our civil service will be respected again, and the rule of law will never be in doubt,” he said.
The rally was part of a wider opposition mobilisation tour in Machakos County, where Gachagua was joined by key political figures, including Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and other opposition leaders allied to the emerging coalition.
Reports indicate that the leaders used the platform to criticise the current administration, accusing it of failing Kenyans and allowing governance challenges to persist.
Gachagua thanked residents for their turnout and energy, ending his speech with a rallying call: “God bless Machakos County, God bless Kenya.”
The address underscores growing political momentum among opposition figures seeking to consolidate support and shape the narrative ahead of the 2027 elections.
