Lawyer Miguna Miguna Apologizes to Gachagua After Sharing Fake 50/50 Power Sharing Screenshot

Date:

Nairobi, Kenya — Lawyer and political activist Miguna Miguna has publicly apologized to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua after sharing a purported screenshot suggesting a 50/50 power-sharing deal between Gachagua and former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka.

In a statement posted on his social media platforms, Miguna admitted that the screenshot appeared to be fake and expressed regret for circulating the misinformation.

“This is to sincerely apologize to Mr. @rigathi for sharing what appears to be a fake screenshot of what he purportedly said about a 50/50 power-sharing arrangement with @skmusyoka,” Miguna wrote.

Miguna, known for his vocal criticism of government policies, emphasized his commitment to truth and integrity in Kenyan politics.

He clarified that while he continues to strongly oppose Gachagua’s “documented politics of tribal jingoism,” he rejects the spread of false statements by political propaganda.

“The People’s Patriotic Coalition remains focused on the struggle for liberation with FACTS, TRUTH, REVOLUTIONARY FERVOUR and TRANSFORMATIVE PROGRAMS,” Miguna said, reiterating his vision for a merit-based political system in Kenya.

The apology marks a rare moment of concession from the fiery lawyer, who has often been at the center of political controversies.
