KAJIADO, Kenya- Popular X influencer Mercy Nashipai Legilisho, widely known as Mercy Masai, has officially declared her interest in the 2027 General Election, signaling her entry into active politics in Kajiado County.
In a statement shared on her social media platforms, Mercy said she had received blessings from her family and community to formally present herself as a candidate ahead of the next elections.
“Some weeks ago, my family and community gave me their blessings to officially present myself as a candidate in the upcoming 2027 elections,” she announced.
The youthful influencer, born in 1998 in Nkama, Oloitokitok, introduced herself as the daughter of Mzee Jackson Legilisho Kosen and Esther Lanoi Legilisho of the respected Loorapi family.
Beyond her growing influence on X, Mercy described herself as a psychologist, farmer and community activist passionate about empowering communities through her Mercy Mission Foundation.
She said her political vision for Kajiado County would focus on uniting communities beyond clan and tribal divisions while expanding access to quality healthcare and education.
“My vision for Kajiado County is simple yet profound: to serve our people diligently, breaking down barriers of clan and tribe,” she stated.
Mercy has built a strong following online through commentary on social issues, youth empowerment and community matters, making her among the emerging young digital voices now transitioning into politics.
She thanked supporters who have backed her leadership journey and welcomed criticism, saying it would help sharpen her vision for the county.
“To those who have stood by me from day one, thank you for your unwavering faith in my leadership. The real work begins now,” she said.
