NAIROBI, Kenya – Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration, Kipchumba Murkomen, convened a strategic meeting today with Principal Secretary Dr. Belio Kipsang and heads of directorates at the State Department of Immigration and Citizen Services to review departmental developments and prepare for the year ahead.

The meeting focused on streamlining operations, ensuring effective delivery of core programmes, and addressing operational challenges that could affect service delivery.

CS Murkomen emphasized the importance of efficiency and encouraged directorate heads to openly highlight any obstacles needing attention.

Dr. Belio Kipsang updated the CS on the recent acquisition of 91 live capture machines, which will enhance mobile registration initiatives, particularly in 15 disadvantaged counties.

Plans to expand operational mobility through additional vehicles were also discussed, aiming to make registration services more accessible across the country.

The Principal Secretary also expressed gratitude for the successful Jukwa La Usalama exercise, which highlighted county-specific challenges and enabled the government to tailor outreach programmes and expand registration services effectively.

CS Murkomen reaffirmed his commitment to improving the department’s operations, ensuring that citizen services remain accessible, efficient, and responsive to the needs of all Kenyans.
