NAIROBI, Kenya- President William Ruto has co-chaired a high-level joint meeting bringing together the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leadership at State House, signalling deepening political cooperation between the two parties.
The meeting, which brought together UDA’s Steering Committee and ODM’s Central Management Committee, was jointly led alongside ODM Party Leader Oburu Oginga.
It focused on strengthening collaboration frameworks and aligning party structures within the evolving broad-based government arrangement.
The latest engagement underscores ongoing efforts by the two political heavyweights to consolidate their working relationship ahead of future political processes, including the 2027 elections.
Recent developments have already seen both parties endorse structured coalition talks and joint strategies in governance and legislative affairs.
Sources indicate that discussions are centred on coordination of party organs, policy alignment, and managing internal interests as negotiations around power-sharing and electoral strategies continue to take shape.
The UDA-ODM engagements have increasingly become a defining feature of Kenya’s current political landscape ahead of Ruto’s re-election bid in 2027.
