Anti-Narcotics Unit Nabs Two Drug Dealers, Seizes Sh2.19M Narcotics in Mombasa

Date:

MOMBASA, Kenya — Detectives from the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) in Mombasa, working with county officers, have arrested two suspected drug dealers and recovered narcotics with an estimated street value of Sh2.19 million.

Kwa Hola Village Raid

Acting on credible intelligence, officers stormed a rented house at Kwa Hola Village, arresting 42-year-old Mwanaisha Abdalla Gona and his accomplice, 37-year-old Nancy Njeri.

Drug Haul Uncovered

A search led to the recovery of 902 rolls of cannabis sativa neatly wrapped in khaki papers, weighing approximately 300 kilograms. Detectives also seized 3 kilograms of skunk packed in sachets and 300 grammes of heroin.

Distribution Network

Investigators also recovered a digital weighing scale and clear polythene packaging materials, exposing what they believe to be a well-oiled narcotics distribution network.

Suspects in Custody

The suspects were escorted to Chaani Police Station, where they are being processed pending arraignment. The recovered drugs have been secured as exhibits.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations reaffirmed its commitment to hunting down drug traffickers and dismantling narcotics networks across the country.
