Summary
- Directorate of Criminal Investigations seizes terror-linked uniforms in Nairobi
- Over 11 bales of suspected Al-Shabaab gear recovered
- Operation linked to wider cross-border network involving Jubaland
NAIROBI, Kenya- The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has foiled a suspected terror supply network after recovering a large consignment of combat uniforms linked to Al-Shabaab in Eastleigh.
The intelligence-led operation was carried out on Wednesday morning at the KBS Garage area, with officers seizing multiple bales of military-style gear.
How the Eastleigh operation exposed the terror supply chain
Detectives from DCI Starehe, working alongside the Anti-Terrorism Police Unit (ATPU), recovered 11 bales, each containing 60 camouflage uniforms and 120 t-shirts.
An additional bale with 65 uniforms and 120 t-shirts was later seized following further intelligence leads.
Authorities say the items were part of a coordinated supply chain intended to support militant activities across the East African region.
Cross-border link traced to Jubaland interception
The operation follows earlier intelligence from Dhobley, where Jubaland Security Forces intercepted 25 similar bales on April 6.
Investigators believe the discoveries point to a broader network operating across borders.
The shipments were traced back to China and delivered through a local parcel service in Nairobi.
Security agencies heighten vigilance after major bust
Authorities say the seizure highlights the evolving tactics of terror groups using logistics networks to move supplies.
The DCI has not yet disclosed whether any arrests have been made.
Security agencies are now intensifying investigations to dismantle the entire network and prevent future threats.
