Easy Coach Announces New Fare Hike

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya – Easy Coach has revised its fare structure upward, linking the changes directly to rising fuel costs that continue to push up transport prices across Kenya.

The new fares, effective Monday, April 20, 2026, will see passengers on major routes pay between Sh150 and Sh250 more as operators respond to the latest fuel price review.

Under the revised rates, travellers from Nairobi to Kisumu, Maseno, Mbale, Siaya, Butere, Ndori, Bondo and Usenge will now pay Sh1,900.

Those heading to Ugunja, Bumala and Busia will pay Sh1,950.

On the western route, Nairobi to Kakamega, Mumias, Webuye and Kimilili is now set at Sh1,800, while Kitale passengers will pay Sh1,850.

The company has also updated fares on other regional routes, with Migori, Sirare, Kehancha and Rongo now costing Sh1,600, while Rodikopany, Ndhiwa, Sori and Mbita will also go for Sh1,600.

Travellers heading to Kisii, Oyugis, Kendubay and Homabay will now pay Sh1,550.

The company says the adjustments have been driven by increased fuel costs, which have raised overall operating expenses, forcing transporters to review fares to remain viable.

The move mirrors similar increases by other operators, including Ena Coach, which has also adjusted prices on comparable routes.

As fuel costs continue to affect transport pricing, passengers are being advised to confirm updated fares through official booking platforms or Easy Coach’s social media pages before travelling.
