OTTAWA, Canada — Ambassador Geoffrey E. Kaituko has assumed the responsibilities of Chargé d’Affaires ad interim at Kenya’s High Commission in Ottawa following the departure of High Commissioner Carolyne Kamende Daudi.
The announcement was made by the Kenya High Commission in Ottawa, which said Kaituko will lead the mission as it continues advancing bilateral relations between Kenya and Canada.
Kaituko brings extensive experience in public service and diplomacy to the role. Before his current appointment, he served as Deputy Head of Mission at the High Commission for the past nine months, where he contributed to strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between the two countries.
Prior to joining the mission in Ottawa, he held several senior positions in the Government of Kenya, including serving as a Principal Secretary.
The High Commission said it is confident Kaituko’s leadership will sustain Kenya’s diplomatic engagement with Canada while promoting the country’s strategic interests.
“The Kenya High Commission in Ottawa is pleased to announce that Deputy Head of Mission, Amb. Geoffrey E. Kaituko, CBS, has assumed the responsibilities of Chargé d’Affaires ad interim following the departure of H.E. Amb. Carolyne Kamende Daudi,” the mission said in a statement.
The mission added that it looks forward to continued collaboration with the Government of Canada, members of the diplomatic corps, the Kenyan diaspora and other partners during Kaituko’s tenure.
Kenya and Canada maintain longstanding diplomatic relations, with cooperation spanning trade and investment, education, agriculture, security, climate action and people-to-people exchanges.

The High Commission in Ottawa also provides consular services and supports engagement with the Kenyan diaspora across Canada.
Kaituko’s appointment ensures continuity in the mission’s operations as Kenya seeks to deepen bilateral cooperation and expand opportunities for trade, investment and diplomatic engagement with Canada.
