NAIROBI, Kenya — Businessman and politician Jimi Wanjigi has hailed the outcome of the Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election, describing the election of Sammy Kamau as a victory for democracy and arguing that the result carries national political significance ahead of the 2027 General Election.
In a statement posted on X following the declaration of the results, Wanjigi congratulated the MP-elect and praised voters in Ol Kalou for what he said was a decisive verdict.
“A win for democracy against tyranny! Congratulations MP-elect Sammy Kamau. Ol Kalou has spoken loudly for Kenyans far and wide.”
Claims Result Carries National Political Message
Wanjigi said the by-election outcome demonstrated growing public opposition to President William Ruto’s administration.
“RUTO YOUR TIME IS UP!” he wrote.
He further argued that the Ol Kalou result had dispelled concerns about the integrity of future elections, expressing confidence in the credibility of the electoral process ahead of the next General Election.
“Now Kenyans know Ruto cannot steal a general election, that myth has debunked.”
Wanjigi also predicted that President Ruto would serve only one term in office.
“One term is clear! Now it’s truly about what next!”
Ol Kalou By-Election Draws National Attention
