‘Mbappé Out’ Petition Explodes Online as Millions Demand Real Madrid Star’s Exit

Date:

A viral online petition calling for Kylian Mbappé to leave Real Madrid CF has sparked massive debate across the football world, with reports claiming the campaign has attracted more than 33 million signatures within days.

The petition, widely circulating online under the title “Mbappé Out,” emerged during one of the most turbulent periods of Real Madrid’s season.

The backlash against Mbappé appears to have been fueled by a combination of sporting frustration, social media outrage and growing pressure surrounding Real Madrid’s disappointing campaign.

At the center of the controversy is a recent trip to Sardinia involving the French superstar while he was reportedly recovering from a hamstring injury.

Photos and videos shared online showed Mbappé on a yacht in Sardinia alongside Spanish actress Ester Expósito during a period when Real Madrid was preparing for a crucial league fixture against Espanyol.

The images quickly spread across social media, with many fans accusing the forward of showing a lack of commitment to the club during an already difficult season.

Despite Mbappé’s impressive individual performances and a tally of 41 goals this season, the club has struggled collectively.

Real Madrid currently trails fierce rivals FC Barcelona by 11 points in the La Liga title race and has already been eliminated from both the UEFA Champions League and the Copa del Rey.

Many supporters had hoped Mbappé’s arrival would usher in a new era of dominance at the Santiago Bernabéu after years of speculation surrounding his transfer.

Instead, the season has turned increasingly chaotic, with injuries, inconsistent performances and mounting pressure on both players and management.

Online criticism intensified further after some fans began questioning Mbappé’s injury status and commitment to the club.

Certain social media users accused the French captain of being overly cautious with his recovery process in an effort to prioritize long-term fitness ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. However, no credible medical evidence has publicly supported those claims.

The controversy has nonetheless continued dominating football conversations online, especially across platforms such as X, TikTok and Instagram.

According to multiple international reports, the “Mbappé Out” campaign had surpassed 33 million signatures by May 7, 2026.

Yet despite the viral momentum, serious questions have emerged regarding the legitimacy of those numbers.

The petition is reportedly hosted on a website that does not require identity verification, account registration or login authentication before signatures are submitted.

Cybersecurity experts cited in French media have warned that the numbers may have been artificially inflated through automated traffic, duplicate submissions or coordinated trolling campaigns.

As a result, the true number of legitimate supporters behind the movement remains unclear.

The club entered the season with enormous expectations after securing Mbappé’s long-awaited signing, which many believed would cement Madrid’s dominance in Europe for years to come.

Instead, supporters have watched their team fall behind domestically while also failing to make the expected impact in Europe.

For some fans, Mbappé has become the face of those frustrations, regardless of his personal statistics.

Football analysts, however, have argued that blaming one player oversimplifies deeper issues within the squad.

Several commentators have pointed to tactical instability, injuries across the team and inconsistent defensive performances as larger contributors to Real Madrid’s struggles.

Others believe the scrutiny surrounding Mbappé reflects the unique pressure that comes with being one of the most famous footballers in the world.

The French superstar has spent much of his career operating under extraordinary expectations, first at Paris Saint-Germain F.C. and now at Real Madrid.

Despite the online backlash, Real Madrid has reportedly shown no indication that it plans to sell the player.

Mbappé still has three years remaining on his contract, and club officials are said to remain fully committed to the long-term project built around him.

Reports from Spain also suggest members of the coaching staff have defended the forward internally, insisting that his recovery process has been medically supervised.

The club has not publicly commented in detail about the viral petition itself.
