NAIROBI, Kenya- Entertainer and media personality Oga Obinna has announced plans to pursue legal action against Nairobi County Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria, accusing him of making defamatory statements about him on social media.
Obinna’s lawyers, Otieno Ogola & Company Advocates, issued a demand letter dated September 17, 2026, seeking Sh10 million in damages over statements Mosiria allegedly made on TikTok and other platforms.
The letter demanded that Mosiria retract the statements, remove the videos from his social media accounts and issue a public apology. It also warned that failure to comply within seven days would trigger court proceedings without further notice.
Obinna subsequently shared the demand letter publicly after the seven-day period elapsed, signaling that he intended to move ahead with the next legal step.
In his social media post, Obinna wrote: “Hata staki mingi just 10M. Siku Saba zili-isha, we proceed.” He also said many people did not understand how defamation cases worked and promised to demonstrate what could happen when such claims were made against a person’s reputation.
Obinna’s lawyers have challenged remarks they say Mosiria repeatedly made about the entertainer’s association with celebrities who had appeared on his programs.
According to the demand letter, Mosiria linked Obinna’s programs and relationships with celebrities to a series of unfortunate events, including accidents, deaths, suicides, addiction, humiliation and loss of fortunes.
The letter described those claims as false and damaging to Obinna’s reputation and professional standing.
It demanded that any apology and retraction reach the same audience that viewed the original material.
One of the statements cited in the demand letter came from remarks in which Mosiria addressed Obinna directly.
“My brother Obinna as a brother I think you need to seek Jesus in your life, you need to go to church repent your sins and ask God to keep you away from trouble,” Mosiria was quoted as saying.
Mosiria went on to refer to Obinna’s association with two celebrity musicians and said that what followed their association was unfortunate.
The demand letter treats the wider remarks as part of the statements Obinna considers defamatory.
Mosiria had previously commented publicly on speculation surrounding Obinna’s relationships with musicians, including the late entertainers Shalkido and Stoopid Boy.
In an August video, Mosiria urged people not to accuse Obinna of responsibility for their deaths without evidence, while also telling the entertainer to seek God and reconsider some of his associations.
Obinna’s legal team is seeking Sh10 million as compensation for what the demand letter describes as damage to his reputation, emotional distress and embarrassment.
The lawyers also want Mosiria to:
- Immediately stop publishing the alleged defamatory statements.
- Delete the videos and related content from platforms under his control.
- Issue an unconditional retraction.
- Publish a public apology through his social media platforms and widely circulated Kenyan newspapers.
- Accept responsibility for the alleged reputational damage.
- Pay the Sh10 million demanded.
The lawyers gave Mosiria seven days to comply with the demands before commencing court proceedings.
The two personalities have previously clashed over the Majembe versus Mbavu Destroyer boxing match held in Nairobi in April.
At the time, Mosiria alleged that the bout had been scripted by Obinna, while Obinna rejected the accusation and hit back at Mosiria.
Mosiria said at the time that “the entire boxing match was scripted by Obina”, claiming the event was designed around a rematch.
Obinna responded by accusing Mosiria of making false accusations and said Mosiria had previously asked him for a ticket to the event.
