The notice did not disclose the reason for his resignation or name a successor.

Mwita Was Appointed CEO In April

Mwita was appointed substantive CEO effective April 1, 2026, after serving as acting chief executive since July 2025.

In a statement issued on April 1, the board said his appointment followed an evaluation of his performance and a structured recruitment process.

“Following a comprehensive evaluation of his performance and a structured appointment process, the Board is satisfied that Mwita has demonstrated the requisite leadership capability, experience and integrity to assume the role on a substantive basis,” the board said at the time.

The board also highlighted his experience in leadership, operations, corporate strategy, organisational management and stakeholder engagement.

Academic And Professional Background

Mwita holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland, a Postgraduate Diploma in Mass Communication and a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Nairobi.
