President Ruto To Embark on a 3-Day Development Tour in North Rift Region

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya – President William Ruto is set to embark on a three-day extensive tour of the North Rift region, beginning Thursday, with a focus on development projects in Elgeyo Marakwet, Trans Nzoia, and his home county of Uasin Gishu.

The President’s visit is anticipated in Uasin Gishu, where local leaders have expressed enthusiasm for the discussions and projects planned.

Governor Jonathan Bii highlighted the significance of Ruto’s visit, stating, “We are ready to welcome the President to this royal county so that together with the people of Uasin Gishu, we have a chance to discuss development issues.”

In preparation for Ruto’s tour, Water Cabinet Secretary Erick Muriithi has urged residents to turn out in large numbers, emphasizing the opportunity for public participation in development discussions.

“We will have extensive discussions on development matters and we welcome all residents to participate,” Muriithi said.

The tour will kick off in Elgeyo Marakwet on Thursday, where the President will oversee several key projects, including the Kerio Valley Technical Training Institute, Kerio Valley KMTC, and Kapcherop TTI.

He will also launch the Kapkundul-Kapyego-Kamelei Road and issue title deeds to local residents.

Later that day, Ruto will move to Cheranganyi in Trans Nzoia for the launch of the Kitale-Kapenguria-Morpus Road, a significant infrastructure project aimed at improving connectivity in the region.

On Friday, the President will begin his tour of Uasin Gishu County in Kapseret Constituency, where he will commission Kimuri Dam and Ngeria TTI.

He will continue to Kesses Constituency to oversee projects including Karita Dam and the Chebor last-mile electricity connectivity initiative.

Saturday will see Ruto in his home constituency of Turbo, where he will tour the Turbo Subcounty Hospital and Turbo TTI.

The tour will conclude in Soy Constituency, with visits to various development projects and several roadside addresses planned.
