According to an executive order issued by the State House Comptroller, the consultants will serve on an “as and when required” basis to provide transformative advisory services across several critical sectors.
The Bottom-Up Economic Agenda, which launched in 2022 with the goal of improving economic opportunities for low-income Kenyans, has faced challenges in delivering measurable outcomes.
The new recruitment drive aims to bring in experts who can address these hurdles by offering specialized guidance across a variety of fields, including macroeconomics, microeconomics, and household economics, as well as focused areas such as agricultural value chains, environmental and climate finance, and industrial economics.
Consultants with backgrounds in law and policy are also encouraged to apply, particularly those with expertise in investment, regulatory frameworks, consumer protection, competition policy, property rights, and digital economy.
These specialists are expected to offer insights on fostering a more favorable business environment and enhancing Kenya’s economic resilience.
Qualified applicants must hold a minimum of a Master’s degree in relevant fields such as Economics or Law, with PhD qualifications considered an asset.
They are also expected to have at least 10 years of professional experience, including a track record in policy research and advisory work, with three or more published works to support their expertise.
Those interested in the consultancy roles are invited to submit an application, providing proof of qualifications, professional experience, and details of previous advisory projects completed over the past decade.
Submission guidelines emphasize a thorough completion of pre-qualification forms, available on the Office of the President’s official website and the Kenya Tenders Portal.
Submissions should be packaged in an envelope labeled Expression of Interest NO.SH/EOI/001/2024-2025, with the specific assignment title clearly marked.
Completed applications must be delivered to the Tender Box at Gate D, State House, by Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at 11:00 a.m.
Only fully completed applications submitted according to the prescribed method will be considered.
