NAIROBI, Kenya- Matuga MP Kassim Tandaza is taking a significant step toward improving education in Kwale County by spearheading the construction of the Tandaza Model Educational Centre.
The Sh100 million project, launched in the Tsimba/Golini Ward of Matuga Sub County, aims to provide top-tier education and talent development opportunities to the youth in the region.
The Tandaza Model Educational Centre, funded by the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF), will align with Kenya’s Competence-Based Curriculum (CBC).
This approach emphasizes the development of students’ talents alongside academics, a vision Tandaza believes is critical for empowering youth.
The MP envisions a facility that will cater to both junior and senior secondary school levels, fully equipped with modern classrooms, science and computer labs, a multipurpose hall, and even a swimming pool.
Tandaza emphasized that the new school would not only offer quality education but also ensure that students in public schools have access to the same resources as those in private institutions.
“We are creating a comprehensive environment where learning and talent development go hand-in-hand,” he said during the launch .
Governor Fatuma Achani, who was present at the launch, praised the initiative, describing it as a transformative step toward empowering Kwale’s youth.
She emphasized the importance of nurturing talent and providing students with the skills needed to succeed in a rapidly evolving world.
The Tandaza Model Educational Centre will serve students from across the coastal county, fostering diversity and creating opportunities for youth from various backgrounds to excel.
As the Tandaza Model Educational Centre moves closer to completion, it promises to be a cornerstone in Kwale’s educational landscape, blending modern learning techniques with a talent-focused approach .
