NAIROBI, Kenya- Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei has launched a scathing attack on Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, accusing him of political indecision after the legislator said he would announce his political future in the coming weeks.

In a statement posted on social media on Sunday, Cherargei mocked Nyoro’s decision to delay revealing his political alignment, likening him to Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, who has often faced criticism from rivals over his shifting political alliances.

“My big brother Hon. Nyoro is our political modern-day Jonasi and a professional fence sitter. He is replacing Kalonzo in supersonic speed of becoming a watermelon plus a coward,” Cherargei wrote.

The senator further claimed that although Nyoro had learned politics under President William Ruto, he lacked practical political experience.

“He is a graduate of President Ruto’s school of politics but he never attended internship… that’s why he is politically crash landing,” he said.

His criticism came a day after Nyoro told journalists that he would announce his political direction within three to four weeks, saying the decision would be based on Kenya’s future rather than personal political convenience.

Nyoro said he had spent months reflecting on the country’s political landscape and wanted to make a carefully considered decision.

“I have been thinking about the way forward. In the next three to four weeks, I’ll give the way forward on which team I’ll decide to move forward with,” Nyoro said during the press conference.

The former Budget and Appropriations Committee chairperson also urged Kenyans not to pressure him into making a rushed political declaration, describing the decision as one of the most significant of his career.

Nyoro, once considered one of President Ruto’s closest political allies, has recently maintained a more reserved public stance amid growing political realignments ahead of the 2027 General Election.

His neutrality during key political contests, including the impeachment of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and recent debates surrounding the Finance Bill 2026, has fuelled speculation over his next political move.
