Four Illegal Firearms Voluntarily Surrendered in Narok’s Transmara South

Date:

NAROK, Kenya — Security agencies in Narok County received four more illegal firearms yesterday in Angata Barikoi, Transmara South Sub-County, as part of the government’s ongoing amnesty program.

The surrendered weapons include one AK-47 rifle and three homemade guns capable of firing. All firearms have been secured and will be processed in accordance with the law.

The National Police Service (NPS) expressed gratitude to local leaders and community members for supporting the initiative.

Officers urged anyone still in possession of illegal firearms to take advantage of the amnesty, which aims to promote safety and security in the region.

“The cooperation of the public is crucial for the success of this program. We urge all Kenyans to surrender illegal firearms and help keep our communities safe,” the NPS said.

The public is also encouraged to report any suspicious activity to the police via toll-free numbers 999, 911, or 112, or anonymously through #FichuaKwaDCI on 0800 722 203 or WhatsApp 0709 570 000.
