NYERI, Kenya- Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has continued his series of political consultations at his Wamunyoro residence, this time hosting Members of County Assembly (MCAs) from Murang’a County as he seeks views on what he describes as the country’s “liberation” agenda and the formation of the “6th Administration.”
In a statement issued on Friday, Gachagua said the meeting focused on gathering the leaders’ perspectives as he continues consultations with political leaders and stakeholders ahead of the 2027 General Election.
“This morning at Wamunyoro Residence, I was happy to have shared breakfast with MCAs from Murang’a County. Glad to have received their views on the ongoing consultations on the liberation of our country and the formation of the 6th Administration. Consultations continue,” he said.
The meeting is the latest in a series of engagements Gachagua has been holding since announcing in June that he would temporarily step back from public rallies to focus on consultations aimed at building a united opposition ahead of the 2027 polls.
Over the past several weeks, the former deputy president has hosted a range of political leaders and opinion shapers at his Wamunyoro home, including Safina Party leader Jimi Wanjigi, Mumias East MP Peter Salasya, former Members of Parliament, professionals, elders and grassroots leaders from different parts of the country.
Gachagua has said the consultations are intended to unite opposition leaders behind a common agenda and shape what he calls the “6th Administration,” which he hopes will succeed President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza government after the 2027 General Election.
The former deputy president has maintained that the consultations will continue as he seeks to build a broad political alliance by engaging leaders from across the country.
