NAIROBI, Kenya — The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has announced the death of Georgina Margaret Oketch, a member of the party’s Disability League and a former nominated MCA in the Siaya County Assembly.
In a statement released on Saturday, December 6, the party said Oketch passed away after a short illness, though it did not disclose the exact date of her death.
“We mourn the passing on of Hon. Georgina Margaret Oketch, a member of the ODM Disability League and a former nominated MCA in the Siaya County Assembly after a short illness,” the party said.
ODM described her as a dedicated and impactful member whose contributions to the party and to disability inclusion in governance will be missed.
“We have lost a dedicated member of the party whose immense contribution will be missed. May she RIP,” the statement added.
Oketch served in the Siaya County Assembly as a nominated MCA, where she championed inclusion, representation, and community support programmes.
