The event, organized by the Kenya Editors Guild (KEG), kicked off at 9 a.m.
This year’s convention, themed “Innovative Storytelling: Building Public Trust and Driving Change in the Digital Era,” brings together over 60 editors and media professionals for a five-day engagement aimed at redefining the future of journalism in the digital age.
In a statement shared on X, formerly Twitter, KEG announced, “The Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya, Professor Kithure Kindiki, will today grace the official opening of the Annual Editors’ Convention as the Chief Guest.”
Prominent speakers slated for the event include Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika and Liu Zhenyu, Director for Information and Public Affairs at the Chinese Embassy.
Their participation highlights the convention’s diverse focus on global and local perspectives in media transformation.
Now in its seventh edition, the Annual Editors’ Convention serves as a key platform for industry leaders to exchange ideas and strategies to bolster public trust in journalism while addressing challenges posed by the fast-evolving digital landscape.
