NAIROBI, Kenya — Reports of an alleged physical altercation involving senior diplomats at the Pakistan High Commission in Kenya have sparked widespread attention online, with claims that Pakistan’s foreign ministry has opened an inquiry into the incident.
According to posts by Pakistani investigative journalists, the confrontation is said to have involved the country’s top envoy to Kenya, Ibrar Hussain Khan, and his deputy, Adnan Javed Khan. However, the claims remain unverified, and no official statement has been issued by the mission.
Journalist Zahid Gishkori alleged on social media platform X that a “serious” scuffle broke out between two senior diplomats at a Pakistani mission in Africa, prompting police attention and intervention by security personnel.
“A reported intense fight broke out between two senior diplomats… one diplomat has approached the local police. The reason for the fight was serious,” Gishkori said, adding that Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs had taken notice and initiated an inquiry.
Separately, Shahzad Paracha, cited by India Today, identified the location as Nairobi and claimed the altercation involved the High Commissioner and his deputy.
The reported incident is said to have occurred at the High Commission premises in Westlands, Nairobi, though details surrounding the cause of the dispute remain unclear.
Local authorities have not publicly confirmed receiving a complaint, and attempts to independently verify whether police were formally involved had not yielded confirmation by the time of publication.
As of now, neither the High Commission nor Pakistan’s foreign ministry has issued a formal response addressing the allegations.
