The event was held at Migwena Cultural Grounds on Thursday, October 15.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said a section of the crowd turned rowdy, prompting officers from Bondo Police Station to intervene and restore order.
The five suspects were identified as Daniel Odhiambo, Gabriel Aloo, Felix Ochieng, Jerry Okello and Edwin Matongo.
The DCI said officers recovered a machete, a sword and a knife, among other items, during the arrests.
The items have been detained as exhibits.

The DCI did not provide further details about the alleged roles of each suspect or say whether they had been formally charged.
In a statement, the agency said it was working with other security agencies to safeguard public gatherings and that anyone suspected of criminal conduct would be dealt with in accordance with the law.
The arrests followed a disturbance at the Bondo commemoration, which marked one year since Raila Odinga’s death.
