NAIROBI, Kenya- British Formula 1 driver George Russell has been spotted enjoying a wildlife safari in Kenya’s iconic Maasai Mara National Reserve, delighting fans and spotlighting the country’s world‑famous tourism attractions.

Russell, who races for the Mercedes‑AMG Petronas F1 Team in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship, was seen in a safari Land Cruiser alongside his partner Carmen Montero Mundt, exploring the expansive plains of the Mara in what appears to be a private holiday.

The 27‑year‑old British racing driver has kept a relatively low profile during the trip, but footage shared by a local TikToker shows him smiling and waving at onlookers while enjoying the African wilderness.

The Maasai Mara is one of Africa’s most renowned safari destinations, home to lions, elephants, leopards and other wildlife, and celebrated for its sweeping savannah landscapes and dramatic seasonal migrations.

While Russell has not yet shared details of his itinerary on social media, his visit comes during the break between the 2025 and 2026 Formula 1 seasons.

In 2025, he enjoyed one of his most competitive campaigns, finishing fourth in the drivers’ standings and taking multiple podiums and race victories.

Kenyan fans and safari enthusiasts reacted with excitement after spotting Russell, with many expressing surprise and joy at seeing the international sports star in the country.

This high‑profile visit also underscores Kenya’s appeal as a global wildlife and tourism destination, drawing visitors from around the world to experience its rich biodiversity and famous safari landscapes.
