NAIROBI, Kenya- Wiper Patriotic Front leader Kalonzo Musyoka on Thursday issued a blistering ultimatum to President William Ruto, calling for the immediate firing or at least the resignation of Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo after the brutal attack on Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi in Kisumu.

Kalonzo, speaking to journalists, said Omollo’s name has been “plainly placed before Kenyans” in connection with what he described as state‑linked goonism behind the assault, and gave the PS until Friday morning to step down or face legal action.

“PS Raymond Omollo has 24 hours to resign. If he will not go on his own, his Boss must remove him, and do so swiftly, if he hopes to convince Kenyans he had no hand in this. Silence and inaction are not an option, Mr Ruto,” the Wiper Leader said.

The senator was violently ambushed by a group of assailants at a café in Kisumu on Wednesday and later airlifted to Nairobi for specialised treatment after sustaining serious injuries.

Kalonzo accused security agencies of failing to act decisively against the attackers, whose faces were reportedly captured on CCTV, and said that if Omollo is not dismissed, both he and the PS could be taken to court.

Other opposition figures at the press briefing also demanded swift arrests and condemned what they called politically motivated violence against dissenting leaders.

The government has not yet publicly responded to Kalonzo’s ultimatum or the specific allegations against PS Omollo.

Earlier, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua condemned the attack, saying it was “simply archaic.”

“Kenya is a Constitutional Democracy governed by the rule of law. Every leader and every has the right to move freely, assemble peacefully, and express their views without fear. These rights are guaranteed by our constitution,” Gachagua said
