The changes were announced by Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service Felix Koskei, signaling a broader realignment of ministries and foreign service positions under Ruto’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
Kabogo, will replace Margaret Nyambura Ndung’u, who has been redeployed as Kenya’s High Commissioner to Ghana. His appointment now awaits parliamentary approval.
This move marks a political comeback for Kabogo, the former Kiambu County Governor and Tujibebe Wakenya Party leader.
A seasoned politician, Kabogo served as Juja Constituency MP twice — first in 2002 and again in 2010 following a successful by-election.
He later became Kiambu’s inaugural governor after winning the seat in the 2013 general election.
Kabogo’s nomination comes at a time when the Ministry of ICT and Digital Economy plays a pivotal role in the government’s efforts to modernize Kenya’s digital infrastructure and create opportunities for the youth.
If approved, Kabogo will oversee key initiatives, including the digitization of public services, expansion of internet connectivity, and the promotion of technology-driven economic growth.
