The meeting, held on March 24, 2026, focused on shared security priorities and opportunities to strengthen defence collaboration between the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) and the United States, particularly in maritime security and joint training initiatives.

Military officials said the discussions also explored the growing role of emerging technologies in modern defence operations, including intelligence sharing, surveillance capabilities, and operational readiness in addressing evolving threats across the region.

General Kahariri reaffirmed the importance of sustained collaboration between Kenya and the United States, noting that the partnership remains critical in addressing complex security challenges and enhancing preparedness.

He emphasized the need for continued joint exercises, capacity building, and information sharing to improve response to terrorism, transnational crime, and maritime threats in the Indian Ocean region.

He said the partnership between the two militaries remains vital in advancing shared security interests and strengthening operational capabilities.

The visit reaffirmed the longstanding military relationship between Kenya and the United States, which has focused on training, logistics support, and joint security initiatives.

The cooperation has also included maritime domain awareness programs aimed at enhancing monitoring of shipping routes and combating illicit activities at sea.

Defence officials said the engagement underscores continued efforts to deepen bilateral military ties and enhance interoperability between the two forces, particularly as security dynamics in East Africa and the broader Horn of Africa continue to evolve.
