NAIROBI, Kenya – Political activist Kasmuel McOure has officially joined the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.
After a weekend meeting with ODM Chairperson and Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga, McOure announced his commitment to strengthening the party’s Youth and Student Leagues nationwide, calling for a new wave of young Kenyans to join.
In his statement, McOure positioned ODM as “the largest pro-people party in East and Central Africa,” appealing directly to young Kenyans searching for a “substantive political movement” focused on democracy and dignity for all.

“If you’re willing to join a fair, democratic Kenya where everyone can live with dignity, consider the ODM party,” he urged, adding that the party is looking for youth voices to help “shape our future.”
The activist’s call to action specifically targets both educated and uneducated young people across the country, emphasizing inclusivity and engagement.
Alongside recruiting new members, McOure also plans to push for voter registration among youth, aiming to transform ODM’s grassroots support.
Governor Wanga praised McOure’s dedication, calling him emblematic of the party’s future and pointing to his potential role in inspiring the next generation of ODM supporters.
“ODM is the party of the future, and the future of ODM is in the hands of our young people,” Wanga stated, highlighting McOure’s leadership potential.
The announcement follows McOure’s recent discussions with former Prime Minister and ODM founding leader Raila Odinga, signaling a rejuvenated emphasis on youth mobilization within the party as ODM seeks to expand its influence among Kenya’s Gen Z and Gen Alph
