Belgut MP Nelson Koech on Friday joined residents of Emurua Dikirr for prayers and the dedication of a newly constructed house built in honour of the late Amos Kipngetich, who died in the tragic helicopter crash that also claimed the life of former Emurua Dikirr MP Johanna Ngeno.
The house was handed over to Amos’ mother, Mama Nancy, in a gesture aimed at preserving the memory of her son while offering continued support to the bereaved family.
Koech said the home serves as a lasting tribute to Amos and reflects solidarity with families affected by the tragedy.
“Today in Soget, Emurua Dikirr Constituency, I joined locals in prayer and dedication of a house I constructed for Mama Nancy in honour of her late son, Amos Kipngetich, who tragically lost his life alongside Hon. Johanna Ngeno in the fateful helicopter crash,” the legislator said.
The dedication ceremony brought together local residents, family members and leaders who gathered to remember the victims and offer prayers for those who lost their lives in the crash.
According to Koech, the project was undertaken to ensure that Amos’ legacy continues to be remembered while providing meaningful support to his family.
“The house stands as a lasting tribute to Amos’ memory and a symbol of our continued support and solidarity with the family,” he said.
The fatal helicopter crash sent shockwaves across the country, claiming the lives of former MP Johanna Ngeno, Amos Kipngetich and other crew members on board. The tragedy left families and communities mourning the loss of individuals remembered for their service and contributions.
As the family settled into their new home, prayers were offered for all those who perished in the accident.
“May the souls of Amos, Hon. Johanna Ngeno and the other crew continue resting in peace,” Koech added.
