NAIROBI, Kenya- The High Court has ordered the Inspector General of Police, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Kiambu and the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to produce missing Kiamaiko businessman Abdiaziz “Zizo” Molu before the court or explain his whereabouts.
In orders issued on June 29, 2026, Justice Alexander Muasya Muteti certified as urgent an application filed by Molu’s family seeking the court’s intervention following his alleged disappearance.
The judge directed that the Inspector General of Police, the Kiambu County Criminal Investigations Officer, the DPP and the other respondents be served with the application before the close of business on the same day.
The applicant was also ordered to serve the Attorney General with copies of the application and the court’s directions.
Justice Muteti further ordered the respondents to produce Abdiaziz Duba Molu before the High Court.
In the alternative, the police, DCI and DPP were directed to appear before the court, either in person or through their advocates, and explain why Molu should not be released immediately if he is being held in custody.
The court also ordered the respondents to disclose the legal basis for his detention and explain why he has neither been released nor formally charged before a court of law if he is indeed in State custody.
The orders were issued in a High Court Criminal Miscellaneous Application filed by Molu against the Inspector General of Police, the Kiambu County Criminal Investigations Officer and other respondents.
The case follows growing concern over the disappearance of the Kiamaiko businessman, popularly known as “Zizo.” According to court documents, his family fears he may be unlawfully detained and is seeking judicial intervention to establish his whereabouts.
Justice Muteti’s orders require the police, DCI and the DPP to either present Molu before the court if he is in custody or provide a full account of his whereabouts and the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.
The court also issued a penal notice warning that failure to comply with the orders could expose the respondents to contempt of court proceedings.
