NAIROBI, Kenya — The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has advertised JSC tribunal vacancies spanning nine specialized tribunals and a graduate internship programme, in a sweeping recruitment drive that will see 215 professionals absorbed into Kenya’s dispute resolution architecture.
In a notice published this week, the constitutional commission — established under Article 171 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 — invited applications for 14 tribunal positions and 201 graduate and diploma intern posts. The vacancies cover chairpersons, deputy chairpersons, and members across nine quasi-judicial bodies that handle disputes ranging from sports governance to tax appeals.
The advertised tribunal positions include one chairperson and one non-advocate member for the Sports Disputes Tribunal; a deputy chairperson and one non-advocate member for the Co-operative Tribunal; a chairperson and two non-advocate members for the Capital Markets Tribunal; and one non-advocate member for the Public Private Partnerships Petition Committee.
Other openings include one advocate and one non-advocate member for the Energy and Petroleum Tribunal; one medical practitioner for the HIV and AIDS Tribunal; two advocate members for the Financial Centre Tribunal; one non-advocate member for the National Examinations Appeals Tribunal; and four advocate plus two non-advocate members for the Tax Appeals Tribunal.

Anti-canvassing rule signals graft crackdown in judicial appointments
The commission issued a stern warning that “canvassing in any form will lead to automatic disqualification,” reinforcing its stance against patronage networks that have historically influenced public appointments.
The notice also reminded applicants that “JSC recruitment services are free of charge,” a safeguard against fraudsters who prey on job seekers.
Applications must be submitted through the commission’s online portal at jsc.go.ke/jobs-2/ no later than 13 August 2026 at 5:00 p.m. The commission said only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
The 201 intern positions represent the largest single category in the advertisement, signalling an investment in building the next generation of judicial and tribunal staff.
