TSC Opens Applications for Over 2,000 Permanent Teaching Positions

NAIROBI, Kenya— The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced 2,014 job openings for teachers across Kenya to replace staff who have exited the service.

The positions, which will be filled on permanent and pensionable terms, span primary, junior, and secondary schools.

According to the TSC, the recruitment drive aims to fill 1,309 posts in primary schools, 32 in junior schools, and 673 in secondary institutions.

Eligible candidates must be Kenyan citizens and registered with the TSC. For primary school vacancies, applicants are required to hold a P1 certificate.

Those applying for junior or secondary school positions must have a diploma in education, a minimum KCSE grade of C+, and at least a C+ in two teaching subjects.

Applications must be submitted online through the official TSC website by Monday, May 19, 2025.

Detailed information on specific vacancies by county and school is also available on the TSC portal.

This recruitment comes as the commission prepares for a leadership transition, with current TSC CEO Nancy Macharia’s term approaching its end.
