NAIROBI, Kenya – Newly-sworn-in Kenyan Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has exuded confidence that in Kenya, everyone can become whatever they aspire to be.
Speaking before a packed congregation at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) grounds, the immediate Interior Cabinet Secretary said that he believes that Kenya is a country of possibilities.
“I want to affirm that throughout my journey, culminating to this moment, I have come to believe that Kenya is a country of possibilities. For a person of my calibre to stand here and take oath of the Office of Deputy President it can only happen in Kenya,” said Kindiki.

The 52-year-old, a Kenyan politician and lawyer, narrated how he was born in a remote area in Tharaka Nithi County.
Kindiki was previously the Senator of Tharaka Nithi County, first elected in 2013 and re-elected in 2017, and also served as the Senate Majority Leader.
“But because Kenya is a land of possibilities and this just proves that Kenya can make it possible for anyone to be what they wish to be in this country. We need to have a transformed Kenya, democratic and inclusive Kenya,” said the new DP.
Why Kenyans should aspire who they want to be
DP Kindiki reiterated that there is no reason going forward, any Kenyan should not aspire to be what they want to be because he is a living testimony.
“I have reflected on the words of the oath of office I have taken. And in that regard, I want to comment to you Mr President before this congregation and Almighty God that I will serve under you and provide you with assistance and support that you need to take this nation to the next level,” explained Kindiki.
DP Kindiki further assured his boss, President William Ruto that he will try his best to work hard to lighten the burden the head of state carries on his shoulders.
“Today, is a day when I have received the highest honour of my life and I don’t take it for granted. I will provide continuity so that we can all work together moving forward,” DP Kindiki further said.
