TSC CEO Nancy Macharia, in a circular dated August 30, emphasized the urgency of the task, instructing the education officials to ensure that only qualified and registered teachers are appointed to oversee the exams.
The selected personnel must submit their details through the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) portal by October 11.
The Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams will commence on October 22 and conclude on November 22, while the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) and Kenya Intermediate Level Education Assessment (KILEA) will be conducted from October 28 to November 20 and October 28 to October 31, respectively.
In her directive, Macharia highlighted the importance of adhering to the selection criteria, stressing that supervisors and invigilators should be assigned to examination centers where they have no personal interest to maintain the integrity of the process.
She also noted that teachers involved must not have served in the same centers for the past two consecutive years.
“Centre managers will verify supervisors and invigilators posted in their centers by confirming their details and workstations. These personnel are expected to take daily attendance and adhere to strict guidelines, including signing declaration forms,” Macharia stated.
The TSC has also implemented a rotation system for KCSE supervisors, requiring them to hand over detailed notes to their successors at the end of each week.
Any sub-counties facing challenges in recruitment are advised to contact KNEC for assistance.
Macharia underscored that only supervisors and invigilators registered in the TSC’s CP2 system will be deployed for the 2024 national examinations and assessments.
This measure ensures that only vetted and approved personnel manage the critical exam processes.
