NAIROBI, Kenya — The Commission on Revenue Allocation (CRA) has appointed Roble Said Nuno as its new Chief Executive Officer and Commission Secretary following a competitive recruitment process.
The Commission said the appointment was aimed at strengthening institutional leadership and improving efficiency in the management of devolved funding and revenue-sharing frameworks across the country.
According to CRA, CPA Roble Said Nuno emerged as the successful candidate after a rigorous selection exercise that attracted applicants from Kenya’s public finance and governance sectors.
In his new role, he will oversee the Commission’s administrative operations, policy coordination, and support to commissioners in executing CRA’s constitutional mandate on equitable sharing of revenue between the national and county governments.
CRA Chairperson Mary Wanyonyi Chebukati confirmed the appointment and said the recruitment process was transparent and merit-based.
She emphasized the importance of strong leadership in advancing fiscal fairness, accountability, and institutional efficiency within the devolved governance system.
“CRA remains committed to strengthening institutional capacity and ensuring that Kenya’s revenue allocation framework remains fair, balanced, and constitutionally compliant,” Chebukati said.
Stakeholders within Kenya’s public finance sector welcomed the appointment, noting that stable leadership at the Commission is critical in supporting smooth implementation of devolution financing structures and intergovernmental revenue-sharing processes.
CPA Roble Said Nuno is described as an experienced finance professional with expertise in public sector financial management, governance, and institutional administration.
His appointment comes at a time when county governments continue to face growing demands for equitable resource allocation, fiscal discipline, and improved accountability in the use of devolved funds.
The Commission indicated that transition arrangements would be finalised in the coming weeks before the incoming CEO formally assumes office.
CRA is expected to continue playing a central advisory role in determining revenue-sharing formulas, advising Parliament on equitable allocation of resources, and supporting counties in strengthening fiscal management systems.
Established under Article 215 of the Constitution, the Commission on Revenue Allocation advises on the basis for equitable sharing of revenue raised nationally between the national and county governments and among county governments.
